Myofascial release in Hoschton works on the tissue around the muscle

Myofascial release is slow, sustained pressure on fascia, the connective tissue wrapped around your muscles, to restore movement.

Sometimes the muscle isn't the whole problem. When the tissue around it feels tight and restricted, you feel stuck.

Most people don't describe it in clinical terms. They say, "I just feel stuck," or "My muscles are just too tight," or "My whole body feels like it's cramping." That locked-up, braced feeling is what this work is for.

Does this sound like you?

Feels stuck

You feel trapped inside your own tissue and can't move freely.

Always guarded

Your body keeps bracing, so you can't move the way you want.

Locked up all over

Everything feels tight and cramped, well beyond one sore spot.

Cleared, still tight

Your surgeon cleared you, but the tissue still feels guarded.

What myofascial release costs

If a doctor or physical therapist told you to look for myofascial release, you can book knowing it's part of what we do. If nobody did, you don't need to know the name. Tell us what feels stuck, and we choose the technique.

Myofascial release is never a separate line item. It's included whenever your session calls for it, and your price depends on time alone.

How a myofascial release session goes

STEP 01

Tell us what's stuck

We ask where you feel tight and what you want to get back to.

STEP 02

We look past the spot

A tight hip can show up as a sore back, so we trace it back.

STEP 03

Slow, steady pressure

We hold steady pressure and let the tissue change at its own pace.

STEP 04

You set the limit

Tell us if it's too much and we'll ease off right away.

Why we never force it

Tissue that has been guarded for a long time doesn't respond to being forced. If a muscle is guarding a sore joint, we never push it to let go. We stay within what your body can handle that day, so your nervous system gets input it can use instead of a shock that sets you back.

Maybe you've had a therapist dig in until you were bruised, or you felt wiped out for days. That isn't how this should feel. You should leave moving better and able to go to work or play golf the next day.

One technique rarely does it all

With deep tissue

Deep tissue works slow, firm pressure into the muscle. Myofascial release works the tissue around it.

With lymphatic work

When an area is swollen, we use gentle lymphatic work instead of pressure.

With cupping

Cupping lifts tissue instead of pressing it, and can suit the same tight spot.

In their own words

What clients say

"Hart worked on my stiff and painful back and hips. She found all the painful spots and worked with expertise. I got to sleep two nights in a row and had more mobility."

It shouldn't. The pressure is slow and steady, and we keep it to what your body tolerates that day.

Usually yes, once your surgeon clears you for everyday activity. We plan the session around the surgical area.

Many clients move better after the first session. Problems you've had for years usually take a short series over about a month, then maintenance. You'll get an honest answer after your first visit.
